Koh-Ed STEM Video Contest
Create a video under 10 minutes that showcases how a specific topic in the STEM field can address one of the UN sustainable goals.
You are the leaders and problem-solvers of tomorrow
What is it?
Starting from December 16th, 2020, you can upload a video under 10 minutes to Koh-Ed that explores a specific STEM topic of your choice. You should be aiming to find a potential solution that addresses one or an intersection of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In order to create a community of global leaders and problem-solvers who will help solve our world's most imminent issues, connecting scientific advacement to the UN Sustainable Development Goals will be vital.

Passionate world-class experts such as professors at Harvard University, Princeton University, a CEO of a neurtechnology research foundation, and the head of education at the Innovative Genome Institue will be judging your videos. Click here for more information about the judges. The first, second, and third prize winners will be getting €300, €200, and €100 respectively!

Our goal is to create a global scientific community of youth who are determined to make our world a better place by using science, technology, engineering, and math. We believe that the first step to making an impact starts now. As a student. The passion that you cultivate now and the ideas that you start brainstorming during the Koh-Ed STEM Video Contest can be a start of a long journey to improve our world through STEM.

Contest rules
Who can enter?

11-18 years old. (Exception: If you are a local Ghanian university student)

Language of video: English

Can submit the video individually or as a group (If you are submitting as a group, one representative should submit it)

Adults should not do the work for the students (Can only give minor advice)

How can I enter?

Create a video less than 7 minutes that explores a specific STEM topic whilst addressing one or an intersection of UN Sustainable Development Goals

Participants must create a prototype (model, experiment, algorithm) that attempts to potentially create a solution for one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Participants under age 15 have the option of simply explaining their specific topic in a creative way without a prototype

Students can upload from December 16th, 2020. The final submission deadline will be on February 7th, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. GMT+1
Opening Title of the video: 2020 Koh-Ed STEM Video Contest - (insert your personal title that is related to the topic of your video)
Closing Title of the video: Submitted to the 2020 Koh-Ed STEM Video Contest: Innovative problem-solving challenge

After the submission, the judges will select the top three videos. The first prize winner will receive 250 euros, the second prize winner will receive 150 euros, and the third prize winner will receive 100 euros. The winners will need to agree to present their video during the awards ceremony in early March.
​
Any winners who are willing can have a mentor to help them further explore and realize their project that they explored in their videos.
